Our Story

I embarked on my journey in 2020 as a fun way to get me through COVID, starting with a single pyrography wood burning tool. Hours of drawing and transferring designs to wood materials and burning brought me to the rabbit hole of laser engravers. The first project that piqued my interest were the ceramic tiles....something I still have yet to try!

On an impulse, I purchased my first Diode laser engraver. It arrived and I put it together...I honestly thought THAT was going to be the hardest part. Then came the time to start engraving....easier said than done. The software was unlike anything I had ever seen before -- measurements only in millimeters....what?? -- Power % settings, speed, grain of material -- it's like a whole foreign language.

My first test engraving was a skull that was supposed to be about 4" x 6". Needless to say, it came out the size of a quarter and I almost burned through to the table. I thought for sure I had just purchased a huge paperweight. And that's basically how it remained until 2023.

In August '23, Jason, the love of my life, mentioned he wanted to start doing craft shows with his metal art and suggested I join him with my engraved stuff. And I said, "my what?? " So naturally, I signed us up for a Christmas craft show - 4 months is plenty of time to get going, right? Well, the first two weeks was basically just me frantically fast-tracking through Laser college - you know, YouTube 101, Etsy-ology, and Facebook-enomics - and I came across a "spooky market" looking for vendors. Thinking he would talk me out of it, I brought it up to Jason and he said sign us up! Grrreat. So now I'm SUPER stressing as we now have a month to get ready for our very first market and I literally do not have a single piece to sell. There were then lots of late nights to follow, in the smoke-filled living room, engraving and cutting away, creating pieces to paint and prep for sale.

The day of the market came and went and I walked away selling more than half of the pieces that I brought. I couldn't believe it...that's when I realized, hey, I might be able to do this.

So, I now have two lasers and have created more in the last two months than I could have ever imagined. I have done 1 spooky market, 1 pop up with another one coming up and am still signed up for that Christmas show.  I'm amazed at how quickly this has evolved and I can't wait to grow my business even more!
